CCDV-F · IS IT WORTH IT

Is CCDV-F worth it?

Is CCDV-F worth it? It is worth taking if you ship Claude applications and want a structured check of what you know. It costs $125 USD before partner discounts, runs 53 questions in 120 minutes and stays valid for 12 months. It is a poor fit if your work is system design rather than building, in which case look at CCAR-F.

  • CCDV-F
  • 53 questions
  • 120 min
  • 720 to pass
  • $125 USD

Who gets the most from it

  • Engineers who build with the Claude API daily. About a third of the exam is Applications & Integration, which matches that work.
  • Teams standardizing on Claude. A shared exam guide gives everyone the same vocabulary for agents, tools, caching and cost.
  • Engineers with gaps outside their daily lane. The exam spans security, MCP, model selection and context management. Studying for it exposes the areas you skip day to day.

Who should skip it

  • Solution architects. The Architect Foundations exam fits that role. See CCDV-F vs CCAR-F.
  • Anyone who wants Claude Code depth. CCDV-F gives Claude Code 3.1%. CCAR-F gives it 20%.
  • Engineers who do not use Claude in their work. The exam tests Claude-specific mechanics.
  • Anyone outside a Claude Partner Network organisation. The exam is open only to people at those organisations, with a company-domain email.

The real cost

The fee is $125 USD before partner discounts. Your preparation hours are the larger cost. The planner shows total hours from your own exam date and weekly time. A plan under half of this site's default assumption is thin for an 8-domain exam.

What this site cannot tell you

This site does not have data on hiring outcomes or pay changes for credential holders, so it makes no such claims. The credential's market value is something to check against job listings in your own market.

A practical test

Read the 8 domains. If most of the descriptions match tasks you did in the last six months, you are ready to plan a date. If half are unfamiliar, the study itself is the benefit, and the exam date is the deadline that makes you do it.

Decision rule

If you can name a concrete use for the credential in the next 12 months, take it. If you cannot, wait until you can, because the credential lapses after 12 months.

Next step

If you decide to go ahead, a diagnostic and practice questions are available on claudearchitectcertification.com . Registration itself goes through the Anthropic Partner Academy .
